The third annual Cal Heights Neighborhood Tree Lighting ceremony will take place Thursday, December 4 from 4:30 to 7:30pm at the corner of Orange Ave. and Bixby Rd. in Long Beach at f/8 Studios and California Heights Market.
This is a free community event sponsored by Long Beach District 5 Councilwoman Megan Kerr's office, California State Senator Lena Gonzalez, Trina Rufo Homes, CSI Private Security, and the Bixby Knolls Community Foundation. Additional event sponsors include Coffee Drunk and the Obitchuary Podcast.
At 4:30pm, Councilwoman Kerr, Senator Gonzalez, and other community leaders will be on hand to make remarks before a spectacular 15' tree is lit followed by a visit from Santa Claus. A kids holiday choir from Cal Heights Music and local grammy-nominated jazz musician Billy Mohler will provide live music before and after the lighting.
Following the tree lighting ceremony, guests will enjoy the following yummy treats and holiday activities sponsored by local businesses, which will take place behind California Heights Market and f/8 Studios:
