General Terms *

I agree to work with f/8 Studios and its associates as an independent contractor on a continuous and as-needed basis. I will agree to a contracted rate of service before the acceptance of the job. Questions about fees, payment arrangements, and all expectations regarding the event must occur in email or be put in writing. I agree to the legal terms of being an independent contractor, therefore will receive a 1099 for taxes and will be responsible for my own taxes.

Attire *

Each associate is to wear a presentable and professional dress as stated in this contract. f/8 Studios attire is all black business casual. Black slacks or pants only (no jeans). Wear comfortable footwear. Sneakers are only allowed if completely black. No open-toed shoes. Make sure they are comfortable; you will be on your feet all day.

Time *

f/8 Studios will give you an arrival time. You must be on time or early. Reserve additional hours from the start of the event, in case the client needs f/8 Studios to stay longer.

Copyright & Ownership of Images *

All rights to images and video taken at any event are the sole property of f/8 Studios. f/8 Studios has a contract and model release with the client, releasing their images to f/8 Studios only. The assistant or associate photographer/videographer cannot use photos in any manner without written authorization from f/8 Studios. If written authorization is given for any purpose, the assistant or associate photographer/videographer must use the following format when crediting an image (photo/video by “your name”, for f/8 Studios Weddings / f/8 Studios).

Conduct *

Be professional, respectful, polite, courteous, and deferential to all participants at all times. Follow all instructions regarding important shots. You may not drink alcohol or smoke during an event. Violation of any of these terms is grounds for immediate termination and revocation of this contract.

Image Cards *

You will be shooting with f/8 Studios -provided memory cards. You will return the cards immediately after the event and before leaving - unless otherwise agreed upon with f/8 Studios. You will not take any of your own personal images/video at the event. f/8 Studios is not liable for any loss or damage to your personal equipment under this contract.

Exclusivity *

You, the contractor, understand that you represent f/8 Studios and not any other business while completing assignments for f/8 Studios. Your sole responsibility with regards to f/8 Studios clients is to promote f/8 Studios. While directly working for f/8 Studios, you will not advertise your own business, will not solicit work for yourself, and will only distribute f/8 Studios business cards, name, and marketing materials. You are not bound by an exclusivity agreement when not working directly for f/8 Studios. You may pursue other photographic work for yourself or other studios, as long as it shall not directly compete with f/8 Studios, infringe upon f/8 Studios client base, or solicit f/8 Studios clients, either directly or indirectly.

Confidentiality *

You understand that all materials, price lists, contracts, financial documents, agreements, and other information or documents that are given to you in the scope of your assignments, are the exclusive property of f/8 Studios, and are privileged, confidential information. You agree not to reveal this information to anyone, nor to use this information for your personal use or to the detriment of f/8 Studios in any way.

Liability *

You, the contractor, are liable for any loss or any other financial liability suffered by f/8 Studios due to a failure to perform, other than a documented medical emergency or "Act of Nature.”

Notice for Excusable Absence *

A minimum of 2 weeks (14 days) notice is required if you are unable to work an event. If your absence is not excusable, or you do not give notice and do not show up for an event, your contract is revoked.
